Merano and surroundings

Merano and surroundings offer many possibilities for your winter holidays; the "Merano 2000" skizone is very close to the ski resort of Avelengo (German: Hafling); you can also ski in Plan (German: Pfelders) in Val Passiria (German: Passeiertal), or in the Schwemmalm ski zone, in Val D´Ultimo (German: Ultental). Summer holidays It´s also possible to ski in Plaus, near Naturno (German: Naturns) in Val Venosta (German: Vinschgau, Ladin Val Venuesta).

The guests wishing to experiment extreme forms of ski can do so in Merano and surroundings in Val Senales (German: Schnalstal), which offers glaciers and the highest hotel in the mountains in Europe; it´s at 3000 meters of altitude! If you spend your holidays in Italy in Meran don´t miss the "Terme & Sci" (English: Thermes and Ski) offer: you can have a skipass for skiing in Merano 2000 in the morning and you can enter the  Merano thermal baths in the afternoon for three hours. In Merano and surroundings it´s also possible to choose the Nordic ski, to avoid the crowds on the downhill ski fields.
